Art on the Square is a nationally recognized juried fine art festival held annually in downtown Belleville, Illinois, featuring more than 100 artists from across the country. The website needed to serve a diverse audience—from art collectors and participating artists to families, volunteers, sponsors, and first-time visitors.
The website redesign focused on creating a more contemporary, visually engaging digital experience that puts the artwork and festival experience at the center of the site while making important information easier to find. The design organizes a large amount of event content—including artist information, schedules, directions, food and entertainment, children's programming, sponsorship, volunteering, and community outreach—into a clear and intuitive navigation structure.
A major focus of the project was creating a flexible platform that can be updated and reused from year to year, allowing the Art on the Square team to update artists, artwork, dates, schedules, sponsors, programs, and event information without rebuilding the site.
